Kicking it in the Burbs.
Its always fun to get out in the burbs and catch up on what all the local graff kids have been up to.
Here are a few shots from the canals, tracks and lanes of the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Seasons of Change - “Winter” at Revolver upstairs.
This is as local as a art show could possibly get, Melbourne’s very own heavy hitting writers Mayo, Frost, Ulcer and Pnoid exhibited a collection of work as park of Revolver Upstairs and GraffixCreative series of one night only shows with “winter”.
This was a seriously chilled show, the work was laid out well in a large space, everyone could grab a beer and wonder around at your own pace.
A great collection of work from some awesome artists with a audience turn out they truly deserved.

South to the CBD.
Its always a good idea to have your camera on you, even when your out to run a few errands as it can result in a great afternoon of shooting.

LFH Live (Road Trip part 4).
One of the main reasons we went over to Adelaide was to catch up with our mate IF of the LFH Crew. We originally met in London, where was getting up hard all over town with his iconic ARGH! Face.
IF was painting as part of the event called “Can I Kick It?” every Sunday at Adelaide’s Crown and Sceptre. It was a totally chilled out evening with cheap beers, good food and DJ’s spinning tunes.
Even though IF was not stoked on how his piece turned out (we thought it was pretty dope!) it was great to finally see him paint a larger scale piece live.
If you ever find yourself in Adelaide, you should really get down to this pub and enjoy the festivities.

Gone but not forgotten.
Some of Melbourne’s outer suburbs, particularly the industrial areas can seem infinitely vast and a little bleak.
This was until we spotted this lonely little throw up by GONE. A great use of colour and placement draws you right in for a closer look.

Blender Studio Visit.
What was meant to be a afternoon drink with a friend in Fitzroy, turned into a impromptu visit to the Blender Studio’s.
We had been wanting to check out this space for ages and it was well worth the wait. Over the years so many renowned artists have called this place home and two of our favourite Australian artists currently have residencies here - Heesco and Drewfunk.
We have seen Heesco and Drewfunk paint live in the past, but it is really nice to see their idividual sections in the studio that they use to painstakingly produce personal pieces, commisions and works for upcoming shows.
Every single inch of this space is bombed from the heavily muraled Lane way leading to the entrance, to the interior walls, windows and the toilets.
It really was a pleasure to explore the space, catch up with old friends and make some new ones.

Catching up with Collingwood.
Things have been a little topsy turvy lately and we have not been able to get out on the streets as much as we would like.
We found ourselves with a spare moment and went over to Collingwood to check out this D*face graveyard that we have heard about.
This small and unassuming alley way is home to work from some of Melbourne (and the worlds) most prominent and legendary artists Rone, Mayo, Ikool, Phibs, Twoone and D*Face.
We are not sure how it all came together, but it really is a site to behold.

Fish Eye Friday week 10.
This weeks pic is of a house in Fitzroy that has been given the royal treatment by the AV Crew.
This crew has been making their presence known in Melbourne recently, being quite ruthless with tags and throw ups.

Goodwood Creek (Road Trip part 3).
When in Adelaide we had heard about a creek that was worth checking out, yet no one was about to give us a specific location, yet there was mention of it being near Goodwood Train Station.
Around the station there was a few cool walls, we wondered a little further down the train line we spotted a concrete storm water drain with a few tags and thought it wold be worth a look.
We discovered that the drain was the entrance to a small but heavily overgrown canal.
We wondered for quite a while, seeing a few tags and some messy throw ups. Just when we were thinking of turning back we noticed a overpass ahead.
This overpass was part of a disused industrial site and making it a quiet, well covered place for writers to have a bit of fun.
There were layers and layers of paint, tags over tags, yet amongst it were some great pieces, such as the geometric styles in the above pic.
The creek is one of those rare spots that even though you are not far from civilization, you feel completely isolated.

Fish Eye Friday week 9.
This weeks pic is of a very nicely done mural that went up recently in St Kilda.
Im not all that sure who did this one, but the line pattern in the background makes it a perfect candidate for a fish eye lens.

Clapham Station (Road Trip part 2).
As always when we travel to a new city we want to take photos of as much street art and graffiti as we can get near.
In bigger cities you can typically just stumble across local work, yet other than a few commissioned murals, Adelaide was proving harder to shoot than we had thought.
As mentioned before we had a chat with the graff kids over the Cold Krush shop and they were really helpful in pointing us in the direction of some cool locations.
One of these locations is the now disused Clapham Station. Even though this station is reasonably remote and only a single low lying platform, some great work running all the way along the track walls.
The best way to shoot the work is to get down on the line, the station is disused, yet the line is still active so you have to be particually careful.

Fish Eye Friday week 8.
This weeks photo is of a rather cool colab drop featuring LENCH and YUCKO of KSA / MR.
This piece is track side near a rail crossing in Brunswick, it is a really great location for a piece it can be a little tricky to get to, but is highly visible when you are stopped at the crossing.

ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!
We recently embarked on a road trip to Adelaide to catch up with with a artist or two and check out the street art that was on offer.
Adelaide is a totally chilled out city and on the surface appeared to have very little of a street art scene.
On our first day wondering around we came across a few well hidden pieces, stickers and paste ups.
We also paid a visit to the local graff store “Cold Krush” located in a suburb called Unley.
The crew in Cold Krush were great, introducing us to some artists that were very conveniently having a live painting at the back of the shop.
They also gave us a heads up on some good spots to get shots of local artists street work including a graff’d up creek that makes you feel like your a rain forest.
Click the pic above to see the full set from the live painting at Cold Krush and stay tuned for shots from the rest of our trip.

Snuf Buff.
This has to be one of the weirdest cases of buff that we have come across.
This was once a totally sweet piece by MAYO & SNUF of the ID Crew, yet when the Chemist Warehouse opened in the previously vacant store next door and wanted to advertise they just buffed the SNUF section of the wall.
It is funny how people hate graffiti, yet instead of painting the entire wall to make it look clean, they use a different colour paint to the original wall and do a half ass-ed uneven paint job making the wall look messy…….
Fish eye Friday is back!
We finally have a working lens again after our new puppy chewed up our first one….
So this weeks pick is of a piece by the ID CREW’s very own EVIL.
One of the things that has made us fans of ID is that each member not only has their own style, they have their own location preferences, some hitting high, some hitting low and others bombing everything they can get near.
